Palletising system including caps for buckets
The use of a space-saving and flexible palletising solution has increased production and reduced the workload on employees.
Customer benefits:
- Physical relief for employees
- Increased production
- Handling of flexible and economical order sizes
- Continuous palletising
- No interruption to production at the filling plant
- Automatic lid feeding including sealing
Initial situation:
Saint-Gobain Weber AG is one of the leading manufacturers of products for the building materials industry. In order to continue to meet customer demand for products at the site, the filling, capping and palletising process had to be automated. This had to be done while simultaneously reducing the workload on employees.
Challenges/objectives:
- Limited space
- Integration into existing production
- Connection to safety elements of the filling system
- Physical relief for employees
- Increased efficiency
Due to the limited space available, a special solution had to be found that would ensure seamless integration into the existing production environment. In addition, the system had to allow for quick changeovers to different formats and palletising with product-specific palletising patterns. Another key element is the automatic lidding of the kettles to make the entire process more efficient and safer. It was very important to ensure a safe working environment for employees, to reduce their workload and at the same time to increase productivity.
The solution
- Fully automatic capping of the buckets
- Robot-based palletising
- Automatic pallet destacking and feeding
- Ejection of full pallets and preparation for transport
- Automatic, product-dependent format changeover
- Automatic adjustment of palletising patterns
- Avoidance of downtime at the filling plant
imperia systems ag developed a tailor-made palletising solution that was specially adapted to the conditions at Saint-Gobain Weber AG. The compact design of the system enabled seamless integration into the existing production environment. The robot handles the fully automatic palletising of the products while the filling plant continues to run without interruption. The automatic pallet feed ensures optimised material flow, thereby avoiding delays. A central element of the solution is the fully automatic capping of the buckets, which further increases process reliability and efficiency. This customised solution not only significantly increased production capacity, but also significantly reduced the physical strain on employees. At the same time, it ensured economical and flexible production that is optimally adapted to the company's requirements.
